Rachel Harvey
Rachel Harvey is a former journalist and humanitarian aid worker with more than three decades combined experience in the aid delivery and media sectors. A former international correspondent for the BBC, she has covered stories around the world, from Indonesia to Israel, South Africa to Myanmar, the USA to Japan. Following her journalism career, Rachel decided to pursue her growing interest in humanitarian emergency response and joined ShelterBox, a UK-based disaster relief charity. She has led teams responding to crises including in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Iraq, Mozambique, Malawi, the Philippines, Fiji, and Ukraine.
Rachel is passionate about the wellbeing of people working in crisis situations and is trained to provide trauma assessments and mental health first aid. She also offers media training and public speaking coaching to non-profits, policymakers, and civil society organisations.
